CORNELIUS AWTREY TO THOMAS J. McGHEE               25 MAY 1846

 This Indenture made this 25th day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and forty six Between Cornelius Awtrey of the county of Benton and the State of Alabama of the first part and Thomas J. McGhee of the County of St. Clair and the state aforesaid.  Witnesseth that whereas the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and fifty dollars to him in hand paid the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath this day bargained and sold and by these presents doth bargain and sell, enfoeoff  and convey unto the said Thomas J. McGhee his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land known and distinguished as the East half of the North East Fractional Section of seventy five and Township fourteen and Range five East, containing eighty acres East in the  Huntsville District to have and to hold to the said Thomas J. McGhee his heirs and assigns forever together with all the rights privileges and appurtenance there unto belonging or in anywise appertaining.  And the first party for himself, his heirs, executors and administrators do and by these presents will forever warrant and defend the said Title from themselves, their heirs from all and every person or persons whatsoever.  In Testimony whereof the said first party hath hereunto set his hand and affixed his seal this day and date above written.

              Know all men by these presents that I, Elizabeth Baker, of the State and County above mentioned have made, nominated and appointed and by these presents do make, nominate and appoint Absalom Autrey of the above mentined state and county, my true and lawful attorney for me and in my name and for my use and benefit tender, demand, sell for service receive of and from John B. Laffoin of the State of Kentucky, Hopkins County, all such sum or sums of money, debts and demands whatsoever which are now due and owing unto me the said Elizabeth Baker, by and from the said John B. Laffoin and to have and take all lawful ways and means in my name or otherwise for the recovery thereof my attachment __________
_____________ or otherwise and to compound arbitrate.  I agree for the same in my name, to make seal and deliver and to do all lawful acts and things whatsoever concerning the premises as fully and in every respect as I, myself might or could do were I personally present and attorneys one or more if necessary under him for the purposes aforesaid to make and again at his pleasure to revoke ratifying and confirming and by these presents allowing whatsoever my said attorney shall in my name lawfully do or cause to be done in and abut the premises by virtue of these presents.

Know all men by these presents that Anthony W. Norris and Mary S. Norris, his wife, both of the County and State of aforesaid for and in consideration of the sum of six hundred dollars to us in hand paid by Absalom Autrey, of said State and County the receipt whereof we do hereby acknowledge have bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents do bargain, sell and convey unto the said Absalom Autrey, his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land situated, lying and being in the County of Perry and know as being the South West quarter of Section nine in Township nineteen and Range eleven in the District of Cahawba and State of Alabama containing one hundred and sixty and 24/100 acres.  To have an to  hold the said tract or parcel of land together with all and singular the hereditaments and appertenances there unto belonging unto the said Absolum Autrey, his heirs and assigns forever and we  the said Anthony W. Norris and Mary S. Norris do hereby bind ourselves, our heirs, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend the above bargained promises unto the said Absolum Autry, his heirs and assigns against the legal claims of all persons whatsoever in witness whereof, we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this the 13th day of January A.D. 1838.

ABSOLAM AUTREY   1740-1833                  26 MAY 1824

The State of Alabama    }     Know all men by these presents that I, Absalum  Autrey, of the state and
County of St. Clair        }      county aforesaid for in consideration of the good will and natural affection which I have and bear to my well beloved sons:  Enoch Autrey, James Autrey and George Autrey, have this day given, granted and delivered and by these presents do give, grant and deliver unto the said Enoch, James and George all my whole stock of cattle, one cow excepted and her calf now in my possession to be equally divided among them to have and to hold to them and their heirs forever and I do further by these presents give each of my three sons above named three rifles guns which I do, by these presents deliver and warrant to each and all of them one to my aforesaid son Enoch, one to James and one to George and I do, by these presents further give and deliver to my said three sons Enoch, James and George three beds one to Enoch, one to James and one to George together with the furniture thereto attached and belonging  to have and to hold to each of them and their heirs severally and I do further, by these presents give and deliver to my said son, George Autrey, a certain bay filly with a blaze face to have and to hold to him and his heirs forever all which said property above described with the several dispositions thereunto made I do for myself and my assigns warrant and defend unto my said three sons, Enoch, James and George forever and I do further by these presents give, convey  and deliver unto the said Enoch, James and George Autrey their heirs and assigns, my whole stock of hogs to be equally divided among them to have and to hold to them and their assigns forever.

St. Clair County           }     Know all men by there presents that Absalom Autrey, of the state and county aforesaid for and in consideration of the good will and affection which I have and bare to my well beloved children, my three sons:  Enoch Autrey, James Autrey and George Autrey have this day give, granted and conveyed and by there presents do give, grant and convey to the said Enoch Autrey, James Autrey, and George Autrey their heirs, Executors and administrators and assigns a certain tract or parcel of land described defined  and ascertained in the map of the Survey of this State by the East part of Section number thirteen Township number fourteen Range five containing 152  36/100 acres lying on the waters of Coosa River in the State and County aforesaid its tenements heriditements and appurtenances to have  and to hold to their three heirs and assigns forever and the said tract or parcel of land described defined and ascertained aforesaid do firmly warrant and defend unto my said three sons Enoch, James and George Autrey their heirs and assigns against myself and assigns and all other persons and all other claims or incumberances whatsoever or by whomsoever made as witness my hand and seal this 26th day of May 1824.

ENOCH AUTERY & OTHERS TO CORNELIUS AUTREY  1770 1847   2 AUGUST 1833

This Indenture made the Second day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty three between Enoch Autery, James Autery and George Autery of the first part and Cornelius Autery of the second part.  Witnesseth that the party of the first part for and in consideration of the sum of $300.00 to them in hand paid before the ensealing and delivering of these presents by the said party of the second part the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the party of the second part and to his heirs and assigns forever the following tract or parcel of land known and designated as follows (viz_ the South east part of fractional Section 13, Township 14, of Range 5 East in the district of Huntsville and State of Alabama containing 152  36/100 acres in the  district of Huntsville and State of Alabama together with all and sigular the tenements and appertenances thereto belonging or in anywise belonging and also all the estate right and titles, interest, claims or demands whatsoever of the said parties of the first part either in law or equity of in and to the above bargained premises and every part and parcel thereof to have and to hold to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns to the sole and only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said party of the first part for his heirs, executors and administrators do hereby warrant and will forever defend the title of the above bargained premises to the said party of the second part, his heirs and assigns free from claim or claims of all and every person or persons whatsoever as also from the general government in testimony whereof the aforesaid parties of the first part hve hereunto set their hands, affixed their seals the day and year above written.
