On 23 July 1860 Elizabeth Autrey came to journeys end and was buried in the Autrey Family Cemetery behind their log home.

Absalom Autrey married Kezia MeCalla after Elizabeths death. No children were born of this union. She died 25 September 1878 in Dubach, Louisiana. Absalom Autrey died 14 February 1885. They were buried in the Autrey Family Cemetery located behind the Autrey home.

Absalom was living with his son Charlie Henry in 1880 Louisiana, Lincoln Parish

census. Lincoln Parish was formed in 1873.

An article in the California Guardin2 dated July 10, 1878 stated that Absalom had

over 170 descendants.³
