Autry , Daniel B. Private. Co. A, 5th Regiment N.C. State Troops. Born in Sampson County and was by occupation a laborer prior to enlisting in Wake County at age 21, May 22, 1861 for the war. Died at Lynehburg, Virginia, April 24-25, 1863 of "disease". Page 131.
Autry , Jasper A. Private. Co. D, 6th Regiment NC. State Troops. Enlisted in McDowell County at age 18, March 12, 1862 for the war. Deserted near Fredericksburg, Virginia, April 8, 1862, but was arrested and delivered to Camp Holmes on July 24, 1863. No further records. Page 306.
Autry , Van l3uren. Private. Co. A, 5th Regiment NC. State Troops. Enlisted in Wake County at age 19, May 24, 1861 for the war. Captured at Fishers I-Jill, Virginia, September 22, 1864 and confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, until released after joining the U.S. Service on October 12, 1864. Assigned to Company B, 4th Regiment U.S. Volunteer Infantry. Page 131.
Autry , William B. Private. Co. A, 5th Regiment NC. State Troops. Resided in Cumberland County where he enlisted at age 24, June 10, 1861 for the war. Wounded at Williamsburg, Virginia, May 5, 1862. Wounded in the right thigh and captured at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 1-3, 1863. Hospitalized at Gettysburg and at Baltimore, Maryland, until exchanged at City Point, Virginia, November 12-17, 1863. Reported absent wounded through April 1864. Captured at Spotsylvania Court House, Virginia, May 12, 1864, and confined at Point Lookout, Maryland, until transferred to Elmira, New York, August 3, 1864. Released at Elmira on May 17, 1865 after taking the Oath of Allegiance. Pages 131 and 691.

Autry , Daniel. 1st Sergeant. Co. 1,20th Regiment N.C. Troops. Born in Sampson County and by occupation a farmer enlisted at Fort Johnston at age 22, October 20, 1861. Mustered in as Private and was promoted to 1st Sergeant on April 26,1862. Present or accounted for until captured at or near Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, on or about July 1, 1863. Confined at Fort Delaware, Delaware, until transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland, October 15, 1863. Paroled at Point Lookout on February 18, 1865 and transferred to Boulwares and Coxs Wharves, James River, Virginia, February 20-21, 1865, for exchange. Reported present with a detachment of paroled and exchanged prisoners at Camp Lee, near Richmond, Virginia, February 28, 1865. Pages 513 and 717.

Autry , Calvin Stephen. Private. Co. F, 24th Regiment NC. Troops. Resided in Cumberland County where he enlisted at age 24, June 1, 1861. Present or accounted for until he died at White Sulphur Springs, Virginia, on or about December 12, 1861. Cause of death not reported. Page 302.
Autry , Isaac Blackman. Private. Co. F, 24th Regiment N.C. Troops. Resided in Cumberland County and enlisted in Lenoir County at age 18, April 1, 1863 for the war. Present or accounted for until captured in the South Side Railroad, April 1, 1865. Confined at Old Capitol Prison, Washington, D.C., April 17, 1865. Transferred to Elmira, New York, on May 11,1865. Died at Elmira on May 23, 1865 of pneumonia. Page 302. |
