Autry, Alexander. Private. Co. D, 19th Regiment N.C.T. (2nd Regiment N.C. Cavahy).

Resided in Bladen County where he enlisted at age 24, June 15, 1861 for the war. Captured August 6, 1862, and paroled and exchanged at Aikens Landing, Virginia, October 6, 1862. Present or accounted for through September 1864. Captured at Aberdeen Church, Virginia, April 3, 1865 and confined at Lookout, Maryland, until released after taking Oath of Allegiance June 22, 1865. Page 130.

VOLUME III

Autry, Calton W. Private. Co. B, 2nd Battalion N.C. Local Defense Troops.

Resided in Cumberland County where he enlisted on August 3, 1863 for the war. Deserted July 26, 1864, and was arrested and returned August 16, 1864. Reported on company muster rolls as being absent in confinement awaiting trial until November-December 1864, when appears with the remark: "Absent Military Prison in Wilmington under sentence of death for desertion. Records indicate that he was not executed and was "restored to duty" on March 5, 1865. Captured on the South Side Railroad on April 2, 1865 and confined at Harts Island, New York Harbor, until released after taking the Oath of Allegiance on June 14, 1865. Admitted to U.S.A. Transit Hospital, New York City, June 26, 1865 with "chronic diarrhea" and was transferred to DeCamp General Hospital, Davids Island, New York Harbor, June 30, 1865. Released at that place after again taking the Oath of Allegiance on July 22, 1865. Page 348.

Autry, David Reed. 1st Sergeant. Co. C, 3rd Regiment N.C. State Troops.

Born in Sampson County and resided in Cumberland County where he was by occupation a student prior to enlisting in Cumberland County at age 18, May 29, 1861 for the war. Mustered in as Private and appointed Corporal May 1-July 14, 1862. Promoted to Sergeant July 14-November 1, 1862, and 1st Sergeant on December 1, 1863. Wounded in the head at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 2-3, 1863. Captured and confined at Fort Delaware, Delaware, until transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland, October 18, 1863. Paroled at Point Lookout and sent to James River, Virginia, for exchange, October 11, 1864. Paroled at Appomattox Court House, Virginia, April 9, 1865. Pages 512 and 667.

Autry, George. Private. Co. C, 3rd Regiment N.C. State Troops.
Resided in Cumberland County where he enlisted at age 21, May 29, 1861 for the war. Wounded at Sharpsburg, Maryland, September 17, 1862. Wounded and captured at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, July 3, 1863. Confined at Fort Delaware, Delaware, until transferred to Point Lookout, Maryland, October 18, 1863. Paroled at Point Lookout and sent to James River, Virginia, for exchange, February 18, 1865. Reported as present on a master roll of a detachment of paroled and exchange prisoners at Camp Lee, near Richmond, Virginia, dated February 23, 1865. Page 512.

Autry, George W. Musician. Co. B, 2nd Battalion N.C. Local Defense Troops.
Born in Sampson County and was by occupation a farmer before enlisting in Cumberland County, at age 17, August 26, 1863 for the war. Mustered in as Private. Appointed Musician on January 1, 1864. Died in Post Hospital, Fayetteville Arsenal and Annory, March 6, 1864 of "cerebritis." Page 348.

Autry, Raiford (Not Rayford) Private. 2nd Co. B, 2nd Regiment N.C. State Troops.

Born in Sampson County where he resided as a farmer prior to enlisting in Wake County at age 28, July 15, 1862 for the war. Wounded in the leg at Chancellorsville, Virginia, May 3, 1863. Present or accounted for until captured at Petersburg, Virginia, April 3, 1865. Confined at Harts Island, New York Harbor, until released after taking the Oath of Allegiance on June21, 1865. Pages 421 and 667.
