To those who performed yeomans service, others are listed throughout the book

JANIE PATTERSON AUTRY: Contacted scores of families, twisted arms for names, dates and marriage bonds in addition to serving me many delicious meals. Once after prodding a cousin for information, she was asked at the end of the conversation, "How much is it going to increase my taxes?" Her contribution to data on the Autry, Faircloth, Home and Hall families has been outstanding. She has distributed many of my books.

ELIZABETH JESSUP SMITH: Use of her guest house, abundant, rich delicious food, and personal contact with many relatives have added to the joy and ease of this project. The Jessup and much of the Hair information are results of her work. Cousin Elizabeth is one of the warmest, sweetest new cousins I have discovered during this study, and other than Missy, her French poodle, her family is her first love. She has distributed many of my books.

JOHN CLIFFORD ROSSER, JR. The greatest when it comes to researching court records, marriage and death certificates, wills, land grants and census He is an authority on cemeteries in Sampson and Cumberland Counties as well as the Williams family.  He has given me many records especially on the Williams and Autrys in addition to a hard time about details, "love children" and sources.

ALICE LUCILLE CULBRETH ANDREWS AND LARKIN GODFREY CULBRETH: Proofed the Alexander Culbreth Chapter, contacted many relatives and sold books all over Georgia, Florida and Alabama. They host the Albany Culbreth Reunion and are beautiful people. Cousin Larkin is now deceased.

JOHN SANFORD HEUSS AND LOIS IONE HOTCHKISS: In March of 1977, while I was working in the Quaker Room at Guilford College, two researchers heard me make an inquiry about one of my great-grandparents. From this incident developed one of the dearest friendships of my life. John and lone did the major work on early Culbreths. He is now deceased and lone lives in the Friends Homes in Greensboro. Two wonderful people.

JAMES BONNER HUBBARD: For help in maintaining the Neil Culbreth Cemetery, the data on the Robert Averitte Family and the distribution of scores of books. He provides many civic and charitable services with no fanfare. He has been a very liberal contributor toward the publication of this edition as well as my other publications.

LENNA BELLE BUTLER SUTTON TEW: The primary source for the Cornelius Culbreth family and tintype pictures of his children. Her food, shelter, and knowledge have added much to the Culbreth book. Her interest in the Neil Culbreth Cemetery has been keen, and we planned its restoration in her home.

NORMA MELVIN BUNDY, my wife, for assistance, tolerating my absence, and "mess" in the house.

JESSE HUGH DENNING: His persistence to discover Civel Hall Daniels family, in addition to information of Neil Culbreths children. It was Jesse who located the legal documents naming the children of Neil and Martha Culbreth which was the basis of Chapter Ten in this book as well as an earlier book on this family.

MARGARET VINSON JAYNES: For an open house, good food, and distributing my books. She is "Miss Autryville" and a great lady.

MRS. JACKIE ROYAL HAIRR, MRS. JANEL L. COWART, MRS. DONNA RICHARDSON, MRS. LISA M. MAGGAGD AND MRS. BETH MATTHEWS for typing, correcting, and retyping this book. They were great, and I could not have done it without their help.
