Autry/Culbreth Book Frequently Asked QuestionsFAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) Due to copyright law, this book may not be reproduced in any way without express written permission from the original author. Please use as an online reference only. Do not copy or download this book. Welcome to the online version of The Descendants of Cornelius Autry, Immigrant, of Edgecombe County, and Neil Culbreth of Sampson County, North Carolina, and Allied Families. By: Mayo Bundy and Robert Autry Brooks, 1996. Scanned and reprinted with permission from Robert Autry Brooks. As you go through the book, you'll notice that many of the pages are very short. This is because I have gone through page by page and deleted all living individuals from the internet version of this book. I do not have information on anyone in the book beyond what is on these pages. If you can submit documentation that something is incorrect, please contact me and I will happily note your corrections on the bottom of the appropriate pages. I am the only person that Dr. Brooks has given permission for scanning his book and displaying on a website. If we keep it all in one place, then we can easily make corrections without worry about trying to correct it in however many places it may end up on the internet. I put over two thousand hours of work and 3 years of my life into making sure that his book was free for everyone to read. Make sure you read my copyright notice! There are two ways to navigate this book. You can use the search feature to the left of the page to search the entire Autrey Heritage site. Just click on "search www.autreyheritage.com" and type in what you're looking for. The second way is to navigate the pages by using the page numbers in the index. All of the pages are in the original order - no text has been moved from one page to another. ----------------------- Q. Why is there no published hard copy of the internet version of the book? A. Because it would be nearly impossible to keep it up to date with all the changes, etc. that need to be made. It would also be very expensive to publish - upwards of $200 per book. ------------------------- Q. When will the book be completely done? A. The book will never be completely done. People are always being born, getting married, having children, or dying. I'll try to keep up as much as I can. I am hoping to find nicer copies of many of the pictures to put up (color would be nice!) as replacements. ------------------------- Q. What's the big deal about living people on genealogy pages? A. Many people have asked that I do not publish detailed information about their living families. It would be very hard to keep track of who does and does not find living individual information on the web appropriate, so it's best just to clear it all off. Some former in-laws are included in family trees who don't want to be reminded of past marriages. We like to not think that there are bad people out there, but there are those would use genealogical information about the living in spiteful ways. This could be anyone - your ex husband, your next door neighbor, your boss, or just someone holding a grudge. Many of us just don't want people to know how old we really are! I know that the original book contained information on living individuals. But I didn't write the original book, and it wasn't available on such a wide and easily accessed system as the online version.
